About Tradecraft Signal

Tradecraft Signal LLC is a Wyoming limited liability company that operates a search index and discovery service for publicly available cybersecurity content. We function similarly to a search engine: we index references to publicly available material, provide search functionality, and direct users to original sources via hyperlinks.

This policy explains our practices and how we handle removal requests in accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512) and other applicable laws.

Our Technical Operation

What We Do

• Index text from publicly available posts solely to enable search functionality
• Store metadata (titles, author references, publication dates, source URLs)
• Provide categorical tags to aid discovery and filtering
• Link directly to original sources via standard hyperlinks
• Direct all user traffic to the original content location

What We Do Not Do

• Host, store, cache, archive, or reproduce full copies of third-party content
• Display third-party content within our platform
• Store or display images, videos, code blocks, or media files from third parties
• Provide access to content that bypasses the original source
• Maintain accessible copies of content after removal from the original source
• Circumvent technical protection measures, paywalls, or access controls
• Index content that requires authentication or payment to access
• Claim ownership of any third-party content

In plain terms: When a user clicks a search result, they are directed to the original source URL. We are a pointer and discovery tool, not a publisher or content host.

Our Commitment to Rights Holders

We operate in good faith and are committed to:

1. Prompt response — All removal requests processed within 48 hours
2. No friction — Simple removal requests honored without legal formalities
3. Source attribution — Every indexed item links to and credits the original source
4. Traffic generation — We drive users to original sources, not away from them
5. No content substitution — We do not display content in a way that replaces visiting the source
6. Robots.txt compliance — We respect crawling directives
7. DMCA compliance — We maintain a registered DMCA agent and follow all safe harbor requirements

Automatic Removal

If content is removed from its original source:

• Our links will lead to the source's own 404 page or removal notice
• We do not serve cached, archived, or stored versions of removed content
• References are removed from our index during routine updates
• We do not intentionally preserve access to content creators have chosen to remove

Simple Removal Requests (Preferred)

If you are a content creator, rights holder, or authorized representative and want your content removed from our index, you do not need to submit a formal DMCA notice.

Our commitment: We will remove the content from our index within 48 hours and confirm via email upon request.

No justification required. If you created it and want it removed, that is sufficient. We do not ask questions or require proof for straightforward requests.

Formal DMCA Takedown Notices

If you wish to submit a formal notice under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512), please send it to our designated agent:

Notice Requirements

Your DMCA notice must include:

1. A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or authorized representative
2. Identification of the copyrighted work(s) claimed to be infringed (or a representative list if multiple works)
3. Identification of the material to be removed, with information sufficient to locate it (specific URLs)
4. Your contact information: name, address, telephone number, and email
5. A statement that you have a good faith belief that use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
6. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner

Our Response

Upon receipt of a valid DMCA notice:

• We will acknowledge receipt within 24 hours
• We will remove or disable access to the material within 48 hours
• We will notify you of the action taken

Counter-Notification

If you believe material was removed due to mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notification including:

1. Your physical or electronic signature
2. Identification of the material removed and its location before removal (URLs)
3. A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification
4. Your name, address, and telephone number
5. A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the Federal District Court for the judicial district in which your address is located, or if outside the United States, any judicial district in which Tradecraft Signal LLC may be found
6. A statement that you will accept service of process from the original complainant or their agent

Upon receipt of a valid counter-notification, we will forward it to the original complainant. If they do not notify us within 10 business days that they have filed a court action seeking to restrain the allegedly infringing activity, we may restore the material.

Repeat Infringer Policy

In accordance with the DMCA, we maintain a policy to terminate, in appropriate circumstances, access for users or sources that are repeat infringers. We:

• Maintain records of takedown notices received
• May refuse to index content from sources subject to repeated valid claims
• Reserve the right to terminate relationships with repeat infringers

International Requests

While Tradecraft Signal LLC is a United States company and this policy is governed by U.S. law, we honor removal requests from content creators worldwide. International rights holders may:

• Use our simple removal process (preferred)
• Submit notices consistent with their local law

We will process all good-faith removal requests regardless of the requester's jurisdiction.

Limitation of Liability

Tradecraft Signal provides a search index service only. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, accuracy, availability, or practices of third-party sources. All content remains hosted by and under the control of original publishers.

Users are responsible for their own use of information discovered through our service and for complying with applicable laws and the terms of original content sources.

Good Faith Statement

We operate Tradecraft Signal in good faith as a research and discovery tool for the cybersecurity community. We do not intend to infringe any intellectual property rights.

We believe our indexing practices are permissible as a search engine service and constitute fair use where applicable. However, we respect the rights of content creators and will promptly remove any content references upon request, without requiring legal justification.

We derive no revenue from displaying third-party content. Our service monetizes discovery and organization tools, not content reproduction. We actively drive traffic to original sources rather than replacing them.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of our service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
